Buntrock's patented two binder system for "zebra shell" construction and chemical setting of back-up coats.

Our special binders appropriate for titanium casting are compatible with both yttria and zirconia refractories. These are specialty stabilized for long pot life and allow minimum alpha case consistent with minimizing the cost.

Shellbond 413 is proprietary broad distribution colloidal silica with 9% SBA Buntrock polymer added. It contains a small amount of antifoam and an antibacterial package. There is no surfactant added. Shellbond 413 is compatible with our PS9400 surfactant. The % silica is 24-25%. Shellbond 413 is suitable for prime, intermediate, and backup slurries for investment casting applications. Excellent high green strength, good hot strength, and low fired strength are properties of ceramic shells made with Shellbond 413.

Shellbond 824 is a blend of EKA Chemical Bindzil 1430 colloidal silica with 6% SBA Buntrock proprietary latex polymer. It contains a small amount of antifoam and an antibacterial package. There is no surfactant added. Shellbond 824 is compatible with our PS9400 surfactant. Shellbond 824 is intended for prime slurries, but may also be used for intermediate and backup slurries for investment casting applications. Adherence to clean wax is excellent. High green strength, good hot strength, and low fired strength are properties of ceramic shells made with Shellbond 824.

TMM-30 is a 30 % colloidal suspension of silica in water. This binder is intended for use with various ceramic powders to produce primary and backup slurries suitable for the investment casting process. The silica is present as a proprietary distribution of particle sizes that produces excellent adherence of the prime slurry to wax as well as good green strength and excellent autoclave and hot strengths.

TMM-35 is a 35 % colloidal suspension of silica in water. This binder is intended for use with various ceramic powders to produce primary and backup slurries suitable for the investment casting process. The silica is present as a proprietary distribution of particle sizes that produces excellent adherence of the prime slurry to wax as well as good green strength and excellent autoclave and hot strengths.

Buntrock Industries' patented binder promotes faster drying because there is less water in the binder. Green strengths are higher than with standard small particle colloidal silica, so usually coats can be eliminated. Excellent "drop-in" replacement system for foundries that want to move away from ethyl-silicate systems. Water based - no additives - so slurries are easily maintained and slurry pot life is extended.

Developed to be compatible with MegasolŪ back-up coats, the specially selected wetting agents and polymers in Mega-Prime provide exceptional wetting and adhesion of prime coats and add elasticity to the shell to help prevent shell cracking.

Alumina coated colloidal silica yields mullite upon firing for high temperature applications; can also be used to gel set most alkaline binders.
